Re-build and Re-deploy SAS Web Applications is the most common post SAS Hot Fix  application step.  We recently ran into a unusual error during Re-Deploy SAS web application step.  The SAS Deployment Manager stopped processing and presented an error:

The file C:\SAS\Config\Lev1\Web\WebAppServer\SASServer1_1\sas_webapps\sas.svcs.logon.war cannot be renamed. Please make sure this file is not in use

Troubleshooting Steps

First, we copied the “sas.svcs.logon.war” to the same location in case the OS would release the lock.  That did not resolve our issue.

in the local SAS services. We stopped the SASServer1_1 and clicked on “Retry” on the SAS Deployment Manager step.  This resolved the issue and the re-deployment successfully continued deploying other SAS web applications and completed successfully.
